100_0932On Thursday, Sept. 18, volunteers Tarek Kalash (pictured) and John Driscoll, helped Habitat construction crew leader, John Blake, scrape and paint the fire walls and repair the front brickwork at Claudia Andrade’s Manassas house.

On Saturday, Sept. 20, volunteers David McGettigan and Kenneth Thomas scraped and painted fascia boards and old caulk, and finished the brickwork on the front of the house.

100_09162nd Lieutenant Luke J. Parker with the United States Marine Corps organized 35 members of his platoon from The Basic School at Camp Barret in Quantico, Virginia, for a day of service on September 19.

They descended on the Village Gate and Georgetown Village communities in Woodbridge to paint retaining walls, curbs, speed bumps and wrought iron railings and to clear overgrown landscaping. This is a continuation of work in the community star..
