On a recent walk through the Prince William Forest Park, it was interesting to see that the smaller trees hadn’t lost their camel- (or carmel-) colored leaves. It provided a blanket of color that rose mid-height to the taller trees that were gray and stripped of their foliage. Grays, blacks, browns, white (there was still some ice on the creek) and accent greens from the native holly made a beautiful backdrop for a winter hike. It was fun to take photos of merchandise in the Manassas and Woodbridge ReStores that provided pleasant reminders of a winter hike in the forest.
