Habitat recently finished working at the home of Thomas Glascoe, who lives in Dale City. Thomas is deaf, has cerebral palsy and severe asthma. He shared his Dale City home with his mother for the past 14 years, but unfortunately she passed away last year.
Thomas now lives alone and was not able to make necessary home repairs which included: attic and lower level insulation; replacing the rear steps to the backyard; caulking all of the windows and replacing all of the window trim; clearing overgrowth from the property; replacing outdoor faucets; removing the damaged fence and weatherization.
The condition of Thomas’s home raised serious safety and health concerns. Habitat for Humanity Prince William County partnered with donors, sponsors and volunteers to give Thomas a hand up and to make sure his home is a safe and healthy environment.
