More than fifty people attended the “Make Georgetown Village Beautiful Day” in the Georgetown Village neighborhood in Woodbridge on Saturday, June 6. The weather was gorgeous and Bank of America volunteers and neighborhood residents built benches at bus stops, replaced sign posts, picked up trash, painted speed bumps and patched potholes throughout the community. Transurban/Fluor provided a grant to the community for a Front Yard Beautification Contest and twenty-five homeowners participated. Six winning contestants received gift cards ranging up to $300. Woodbridge District Supervisor Frank Principi helped judge the contest and Briana Sewell, PWC Community Outreach Representative for Congressman Gerald Connolly helped distribute the awards. Our thanks to Dave Williams, Dave Gross and Mike Gallagher for volunteering as Team Leads throughout the day! See the full story and pictures of the day’s work in the Photo Gallery.
