Avid reader, Helen Caporaletti, lives in the Lake Ridge condo she and her late husband purchased in 1998. Recently, water from the upstairs neighbor’s washer came streaming into her home, which caused serious water damage.
Unable to find a contractor to do the work at an affordable rate, Helen turned to Habitat. We are replacing the water-damaged flooring and drywall, plus making other minor repairs in her home.
Helen came to the Washington area from Idaho right out of high school to work as a file clerk for the FBI in 1945. She has two sons and a grandson who live in the area, plus very helpful neighbors. She heard about Habitat’s home repair program at the Woodbridge Senior Center where she goes for crafts and Tai Chi class!
