Jimmy and Alice Golmon know each other pretty well. Not too surprising considering they’ve been married for almost 56 years! This 20-year Navy veteran and his wife were teenage sweethearts and have been together ever since – through thick and thin.
After retiring from the Navy, Jimmy went to work for Sears for the next 20 years and Alice worked for Giant Food for 34 years. These two retirees are now on a fixed income and asked Habitat for Humanity for a hand up with home repairs. Specifically, we installed needed accessibility accommodations, such as grab bars, in their bathroom. We also repaired some plumbing problems, the gutters, damaged siding and the stove vent.
21 Habitat volunteers provided 154 hours of labor over six work days to help Habitat for Humanity make these much needed repairs.
