Celebrating a Journey of Determination, Partnership, and Community Support

Habitat for Humanity Prince WilliamCounty is thrilled to celebrate a heartwarming milestone—Ayda S., a determined and hardworking partner family member, has officially closed on her newly renovated townhome in Woodbridge, Virginia.

Ayda’s journey to homeownership began more than two years ago. With hope, perseverance, and a deep desire to build a better future for her family, she partnered with Habitat to make her dream of owning a home a reality. Along the way, she invested hundreds of sweat equity hours, participated in financial literacy training, and gave her time to help build and renovate homes for others in need.

The renovation of her new townhome was made possible thanks to the tireless efforts of dozens of volunteers, local contractors, and generous donors. Together, they transformed the house into a safe, comfortable, and welcoming home—a place where Ayda and her family can grow and thrive.

In a touching show of gratitude, Ayda prepared a homemade lunch and invited everyone who contributed to her new home to join her and her family in a special celebration. Volunteers, staff, donors, and contractors gathered in her finished home to share a meal, reflect on the journey, and witness the joy of a dream fulfilled.

“Ayda’s story is a beautiful example of what Habitat is all about—community, commitment, and the belief that everyone deserves a decent place to live,” said Steve Liga, CEO/Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Prince William County. “We’re incredibly proud of her and grateful to all who helped make this day possible.”

Ayda’s new beginning is a reminder that when a community comes together with compassion and purpose, lasting change is possible.

Welcome home, Ayda!
