Habitat volunteers alongside our construction crew leader made big progress on the rehab of the Abuye-Retta family’s future home last week.

Family partner Tesfaye Abuye installs the new fridge and freezer doors.

Appliances donated by Whirlpool were the final pieces needed to complete work in the kitchen at Central Park Drive.

There was still some exterior work to do as well before the July 28th home dedication. Over this summer the seed sown in the front lawn will grow in, adding more outdoor play area for the family’s children.

Habitat’s Thursday crew knocked out some of the final touches of paint needed in the upstairs bath, basement and main level.

Habitat’s Friday crew were so grateful when Sentara Hospital – Woodbridge employees stopped by on their lunch break with ice cream for the workers. Thank you so much for treating our volunteers!

We appreciate all of the volunteers who serve our community and the families who are our partners. We invite people from all walks of life and faiths to work together in partnership to build, rehab and repair homes with families in need.
