Architectural Items
- Mantels, columns, stained and leaded glass windows, etc.
Appliances
- Wall ovens 5 years old or newer and all other appliances 10 years old and newer
- All appliances must be clean with no rust and in 100% working order. Appliances will be tested — we cannot accept non-working appliances
- Please include owners manuals if you have them, as they add value to your donation
Cabinets
- We accept both kitchen and bathroom cabinets in sets or individuals pieces
- Must have all doors and drawers
- Must have no structural or water damage
Countertops
- Laminate must be no more than one year old
- No used marble vanity tops over 48″ unless new in box
- No stained, chipped, scratched or cracked countertops
- Faucets, if attached, must be clean and in good working order
Doors
- Doors must be in excellent condition, with no rotted wood, separation, broken glass, or peeling paint (no doors over 84 inches tall)
- Pre-hung or slabs
- Exterior or interior
- Storm doors must have all hardware to remount and reuse
Electrical
- Residential electrical items only (outlets, fixtures, etc.)
- We do not accept consumer electronics such as televisions, radios, gaming stations, etc.
Fans
- We accept fans if they are complete and in working condition only
- Must have all brackets and hardware to remount/reinstall
- Used light bulbs must be removed
Flooring
- Hardwood and laminates must be new in the box or roll
- Wood flooring no less than 20 square feet
- No used carpet or padding over 1 year old
- No used wood flooring
Furniture
- Wood furniture must be assembled and free of scratches and other defects
- No water damage
- Upholstered furniture free of tears, stains, scratches, smells and pet hair
Hardware
- Complete sets of door hardware, hinges, etc. Any quantity of nails, screws, fasteners, hangers, connectors, etc.
Household
- We accept dishes free of stains, chips, cracks or scratches
Lighting
- Must be complete and in excellent condition
- We do not accept fluorescent or recessed (can) lights
- Used light bulbs must be removed
Lumber • Plywood • Sheetrock • Trim
- We accept full and 1/2 sheets of plywood
- We accept full lengths of lumber
- We will accept trim in smaller pieces, but not less than 4 feet long
- Please, no rot or nails sticking out of lumber
Mirror • Glass
- Certain conditions apply — please call 703-369-6145 prior to donating these items
Paint • Wallcoverings
- Only full gallon or quart cans with no rust or 5 gallon buckets of latex paint
- No oil-based paints, thinners or solvents.
Pipe • Pvc • Metal • Copper
- We accept 4 feet and over of any type of pipe, and all supplies and fittings
Plumbing • Tubs • Sinks • Showers • Commodes
- Must be in excellent condition with no stains, chips, cracks, dents or rust
- Stainless steel and porcelain kitchen sinks
- Pedestal and drop-in bathroom sinks
- Faucets, if attached, must be clean and in good working order
- No cast iron bath tubs, unless clawfoot style
- Fiberglass bathtubs with no cracks
- Complete faucets
- Miscellaneous plumbing hardware
Roofing Material • Gutters • Canales
- We accept all types of roofing material such as rolled roofing material, tar, metal roofing and bundles of new shingles
- We accept roofing gutter/canale materials that are in full pieces and are not rusty, bent or damaged
Tools
- We accept all hand and power tools in working condition
Windows • Screens
- Windows must be double paned, low-E and completely assembled in frame (with all sashes and frame) with no rotted wood, cracked glass or foggy glass
- No storm windows unless new in packaging
- No window sashes
Items We Do NOT Accept
- Televisions, computers, or other consumer electronics.
- Cleaning chemicals, flammable or caustic liquids, or unlabeled fluids
- Old dial-type thermostats
- Used shower/tub doors
- Entertainment centers for tube TVs
- Used toilet seats
- Toilets older than 1992/not 1.6 gallon flush
- Used light bulbs and fluorescent fixtures
- Broken or unstable curtain rods
- Exercise equipment
- Used vinyl/aluminum venetian & vertical blinds
- Walkers, crutches, or assisted living items
- Lumber under four feet
- Used brick or tile with mortar
