More than thirty people attended the “Make Georgetown Village Beautiful Day” in the Georgetown Village neighborhood in Woodbridge on Saturday, June 4. The annual cleanup is put on by the Georgetown Village Community Council, Inc. (GVCCI) and the community’s property management company, Community Management Services (CMS). Habitat for Humanity Prince William County has supported the event for three years, this year leading Wells Fargo Bank volunteers and neighborhood residents to accomplish a list of beautification tasks needed in the community’s public spaces.
Volunteers painted speed bumps and curbs and picked up trash throughout the community. Doughnuts and coffee were donated by the Dunkin’ Donuts store in Dumfries to get volunteers going in the morning and GVCCI and CMS provided lunch for the volunteers in the afternoon. It was a beautiful day in the Village with wonderful volunteers and interested homeowners showing how much they care about their community. A large number of community youth have participated each year, bringing high energy, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. To see more photos from the day, visit our Blog Post.
