Dog Lover Needs Minor Repairs
Family partner, Cecelia Shepherd, moved into her Manassas Park home just after retiring 14 years ago. The fourth of nine children, Cecelia is no stranger to hard work as she grew up living and working on farms in Luray, Virginia. After moving to Northern Virginia, she worked for Safeway and A&P for 31 years.
Habitat will be patching holes, repairing and painting widow trim, repairing door locks and latches, staining the deck, power washing the siding and cleaning the duct work. Work days have been scheduled for July 18, 19 & 24.
Family Partner, Dorothy Obenchain
Born and raised in Lynchburg, Virginia, Dorothy Obenchain and her late husband bought their Manassas Park home in 1954 with a $200 down payment. Sixty years and “a bunch of grandkids” later, Dorothy still lives in their beloved home where they raised four children.
A wall in her home has water damage and is not stable, presenting a hazard. Also, poor drainage in her backyard has damaged her rear stoop. Work on Dorothy’s home will take place on July 25, 26 & 31.
Special thanks to Ten Christian Families who sponsored these repairs.
